Seasonal greetings!
Well, we’ve certainly had a busy few months at Wymondham Ukulele Group. We’ve been having our usual meetings, which have been great fun and well attended, and we’ve also been having occasional meetings in between just to get together and get our uke on.
In November we busked at the Town Green Centre for the Lemon Day festivities. We tried some lemon-themed songs such as Mellow Yellow and Yellow Submarine as well as perennial favourites like Stand By Me, Bad Moon Rising and Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and nobody cried or threw us out so we deemed it a success!
In December, we had a full house when we arranged a workshop with Gemma, a ukulele teacher from Norwich. She was able to show us a lot about strumming techniques and other helpful tidbits. We’re hoping to arrange some more workshops in the new year.
An extra ukulele session at the Green Dragon has been arranged for the 6th January. Hope to see you all there! In the meantime, Merry Christmas, Cool Yule and Happy Holidays, and we’ll see you in the new year.
